Oh My Goodness, It's January 2008!

We had a great holiday season. Did the usual things, with the usual people. We take off Feb. 1st for Yuma to see the folks. We are spending more time with a couple Grandkids we haven't seen for a awhile and that is good. Here they are after we made biscuits. They were good with honey butter grampa got for us. That's grampa with a couple other grankids, he's the horse. We are trying to get healthy but things keep getting in my way, mostly me. Dennis has cut out alcohol, so proud of him for that and he's exercising. I don't know, I'm just such a lump. I need to get a physical or something. I'm driving him and I crazy. He's very patient though. I love him, he's a good guy.

Debt Reduction Services

Don't ever type those words in your search engine UNLESS you want 1,000,000 people to call you to help you out of your financial woes. This is how I spent my day yesterday only to be told that what I did was probably not the right thing to have done, it is so confusing I turned off my phone today just to STOP THE INSANITY!!!!
I WAS down 2 more pounds this morning, 9.5 lbs. It will probably slow down so I better figure out some way to stay pumped and not get stressed over the FINANCIAL CRISIS I am living through. I really just want to curl up in a ball and make believe I'm 6.
I hope it is not too cold (windy) tonight so I can get on my bike and ride away.
I am beginning to think this Blog should be named "Thelma's Big Bitch Fest".
Hey I watched "The Biggest Loser" last night, well 10 minutes of it at least. I made the mistake of telling one of my sons my finanacial bloopers that day and he had all sorts of information for me. I head was reeling!!! Well I better get off this thing. Tootles!!

We Survived the Weekend!!!!

We survived the weekend and I am down 6.5 lbs. We did some great home improvements and mended some fence only to find the horse out again this morning. He is going to be the dealth of my sanity yet! I don't know if I mentioned it but my refridgerator is still on the fritz as the parts that were order were WRONG!!!!! It will be 4 more days.
I spent most of my weekend in a pissy mood as I was telling Louise this morning over coffee. I will not even mention why because it is so embarrassing. But as usual the pastor's words Sunday morning brought me back down to earth and I am gettting over it. Being 50 sometimes can be more exhausting than you think, am I'm almost out of Happy Camper, my new supply better get here Fast. I got an email today stating they shipped 9/14/07. So poor Elmo might be spared.. Poor man, I about bit his head off several times this weekend, some was deserved, some not. He got his kiss on the way out the door this morning so all should be forgiven.
Here's a picture of Elmo and Haus, our cowboy son on his way to his next adventure. They got all gussied up for this picture, even got out the Sunday guns.
Oh I forgot, I'm suppose to be writing about my quest for good health. That's tuff when you have no refridge. I had all my veggies and fruits and not too many fats or carbs but on sunday, there was really no choices, sooo.... Elmo and I ate the rest of the Low Calorie Moose Tracks ice cream out of the Freezer. It tasted great and now it's gone. Biggest Loser is on tomorrow evening and I'll be there.
Gotta go, Tootles!!!!

Go BSU!!

Elmo & I just got back from watching BSU vs Wyoming over at mom & dad's. BSU won!! We had a little BBQ chicken and salad and pinapple chuncks for dessert. Mom & I went shopping at the new Burlington coat factory, nice store, and walked dinner off. I can not wait to get the 1st 20 pounds off so my knees don't hurt so much when I walk. It has been 4 days since we started our quest for good health. So far so good, though I was up 1 pound this morning. We had mongolian last night, no noodles or rice but maybe one of the sauses wasn't kosher, if you know what I mean. We did some work out in the yard, clearing weeds and old fence post, reclaiming veiw the horses stole from us. I'm calling that my exercise as my heart was really a thumping. That's a good thing. I hope to get some serious bike riding in tomorrow, we'll see. We'll I'll get back with you tomorrow, Tootles!!
PS: I just added this picture, one of the grandsons taking after the other males brobecks in this family, calories, calories.....

Attitude
There once was a woman who woke up one morning, looked in the mirror, and noticed she had only three hairs on her head. Well," she said, "I think I'll braid my hair today?" So she did and she had a wonderful day.
The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and saw that she had only two hairs on her head. "H-M-M," she said, I think I'll part my hair down the middle today?" So she did and she had a grand day.
The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed that she had only one hair on her head. "Well," she said, "today I'm going to wear my hair in a pony tail." So she did and she had a fun, fun day.
The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed that there wasn't a single hair on her head. "YEA!" she exclaimed, "I don't have to fix my hair today!"
Attitude is everything. Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle. Live simply, Love generously, Care deeply, Speak kindly....... Leave the rest to God Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass... It's about learning to dance in the rain.
